Nowadays, disposable tableware represented by paper cups has entered people's lives, and its safety issues have also received much attention. According to national regulations, disposable paper cups cannot use recycled paper as raw material and cannot contain fluorescent bleaching agents. But many paper cups use recycled paper that violates regulations, adding a large amount of fluorescent bleach to make their color white, and then adding some industrial calcium carbonate and talcum powder to increase their weight. In addition, in order to withstand high temperatures, the paper cup is covered with a layer of laminated paper, and according to regulations, standard non-toxic polyethylene should be selected. However, some manufacturers even use industrial polyethylene or waste plastics from medical waste and chemical drug packaging instead.
There are three types of disposable paper cups: one is made of white cardboard, mainly used to hold dry foods such as french fries and popcorn, and cannot hold water; The second type is wax coated paper cups, which are thick and waterproof, but cannot hold food with a temperature exceeding 40 ℃; The third type is paper plastic cups, where the outer wall is coated with a layer of paper and the inner wall is coated with a layer of coated paper to prevent water and oil.
