The three major standards of trendy disposable paper cup wholesale market should not be underestimated

2025-11-09

At present, disposable paper cups are a commonly used tool for meeting customers, and they play an important role in my life. So, how can disposable paper cups be used more safely?

1. How to choose disposable paper cups. There are three main types of disposable paper cups currently available on the market, namely white cardboard paper cups, wax coated paper cups, and paper plastic cups. White cardboard paper cups can only be used to hold dry food or other items. Wax coated paper cups should not be filled with water at temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. Paper plastic cups are composed of a layer of paper and a layer of coated paper. When purchasing disposable paper cups, it is best to smell the odor first. Weak paper cups emit a pungent odor and should not be purchased or used. In addition, paper cups have a soft touch and impurities can be seen under light, which are low-quality paper cup products that can have an impact on human health after use.

2. Precautions for using disposable paper cups. When using disposable cups purchased, first heat them with hot water to evaporate some harmful substances from the inner lining of the paper cup into the water. Then, pour out the first water to reduce the body's intake of harmful substances in the paper cup. In addition, when using wax coated paper cups to hold water, the water temperature should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius to prevent the wax inside the cups from melting into the water due to high temperatures and being consumed by the human body.

3. The hazards of disposable paper cups. In daily life, if it is not necessary, try to minimize the use of disposable paper cups. Disposable paper cups may be added with harmful substances such as fluorescent whitening agents, industrial paraffin, ink, etc. by unscrupulous merchants during the production process. In addition, there are still many cases in China where disposable paper cups are found to not meet safety standards during testing.

The fluorescent substance on the paper cup exceeds the standard, and the plastic bowl will fade. The municipal industry and commerce department announced the recent sampling results of disposable products, and 4 batches of samples failed the "decolorization test" and other items. It is reported that these unqualified projects may pose a threat to human health.

The failure of decolorization test refers to the color of the soaking solution when food packaging materials are soaked in water, oil or ethanol, which means that pigments, dyes, additives and other substances in food packaging materials may enter the food, and these substances are often harmful to the human body; Oxygen permeation rate refers to the oxygen permeation rate of packaging materials such as cling film exceeding the standard requirements, making it easier for oxygen from the external air to enter food packaging, leading to the proliferation of aerobic bacteria and making food more prone to spoilage; Fluorescent substances are not easily decomposed or eliminated. If they exceed the standard, they can accumulate in the body and affect the normal development and growth of cells, seriously endangering human health.
